Tina Buckman Photography
Tina Buckman is a photographer who has been based in New York City since 2000, specializing in events and the performing arts. The events range from gala award dinners, corporate annual meetings, gallery openings and fundraisers – both nonprofit and corporate – to weddings and milestone birthday celebrations. In the field of the performing arts, Tina has photographed concerts, plays, operas and more. She has over fifty photographed performances under her belt, to date. The first shoot for The Little Opera Theatre of NY was at the Socrates Sculpture Park over ten years ago, “an up-close introduction to the magic of opera,” she recalls. Tina has photographed celebrities, royalty, musicians, artists and authors, always keen on capturing those authentic, key moments. Other areas of expertise are portraits and travel images. Another subject that has become close to her heart is children with developmental needs, whose activities and progress she photographs at the Kennedy Children’s Center.
Where did it all start? After receiving a BFA in photography and painting at the Layton School of Art (now the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design), Tina worked at a photography studio for four years. While further developing her talents in photography, she honed her story-telling skills as a designer and producer of corporate multimedia shows in Milwaukee and in Scandinavia. Tina continues to pursue her passion for photography – both professional and personal work – in New York City and wherever her travels may take her.
